Town Hall Meeting of the IAU CPS Industry & Technology Hub
Agenda for 1 March 2023 Town Hall
Since the re-emergence of low-Earth-orbiting satellite constellations, the astronomy and satellite communities have undertaken considerable work to evaluate the impact of such satellites on astronomy and identify mitigations. In April 2022, the International Astronomical Union’s Centre for the Protection of the Dark & Quiet Sky was established to formalize this work and to encourage collaboration between the satellite and astronomy communities on solutions.
The 1 March virtual Town Hall will provide updates on the tools, resources and platforms for interaction that are being developed within the Centre’s Industry & Technology Hub in order to assist satellite constellation operators and other industry stakeholders in understanding their potential to impact astronomy and a discussion of the latest mitigation efforts being across industry.
